Ellie

Ellie (Russian: Элина, Elina) is a purple butterfly who shows mutual sympathy to Moonzy (in the episodes of the last seasons it is already noticeable that the sympathy of both characters to each other has disappeared or is not shown in any way).

Attire

Ellie is a butterfly is wearing a purple dress and slightly lighter colored wings with blue dots on them. Ellie has light pink short hair (in season 1 her's hair is “flesh-colored”), braided into flower bows. From season 2(in russian 3), the butterfly's hair becomes noticeably longer. The butterfly's eyes are blue in color.

The skin is darker in color than other butterflies.

Personality

In the beginning of the animated series, the character of Ellie is not very different from the character of other butterflies. Thus, in the series “Beauty”, she is shown as an extremely proud and complex person who can not allow the inhabitants of the forest caught her in an unsightly form. In the series “Stranger” she shows complete indifference to Moonzy's attempts to befriend her until he appears as a mysterious stranger. Despite her resemblance to butterflies, Elina initially stays away from them. Later, after her friendship with Moonzy, the emphasis is often placed on Ellie's positive traits: she shows her good-naturedness, caring and friendliness. However, along with this, she quite often appears among other butterflies. Then she behaves accordingly and adopts their negative character traits.

Biography

In the episode "How to be a friend" she lies on the flower and sings a song that Moonzy likes. Woopsie and Poopsie tell Moonzy to rock the flower. He does that and Ellie flies away, after which Moonzy gets angry at the caterpillars and says that he does not want to be friends with them because he does not want to offend anyone.

In the episode "[Beauty" (This episode is only in Russian) Ellie gets dirty in the mud and is afraid that someone will see her. But then she saves Skip and everyone praises her.

In the episode "Stranger" (This episode is in Russian only) Moonzy wants to please Ellie and pretends to be a stranger according to Skip's idea. Then the identity of the stranger is revealed and the offended Ellie flies away. But then she returns to Moonzy. In many other episodes, Ellie often appears alongside the main characters. Ellie also appears more with other butterflies in new episodes.

In episode "In search of a name" (This episode is in Russian only) Ellie helps find a name for Moona.

Occupations and Interests

In Ellie's first appearances, it is clear that she is not very fond of socializing with the other fashionista butterflies. Later, however, Ellie spends a lot of time with them and, just like them, reads magazines and tries on jewelry.

She does ballet and even taught Moonzy and the other boys this dance.

Relations

She has a very good relationship with Moonzy, but almost nothing is known about her relationship with his friends. She is friends with other butterflies, although they know very little about the world around them and are obsessed with fashion. In one episode, when a soccer ball hit Weebee on the nose and his nose turned red, Ellie and Margo laughed at Him. But most likely, in the new series, Ellie and Weebee have a good relationship.

Trivia

• Margo and Ellie are the only butterflies with known names.
• She was originally named Mona. This name was used in the 2006 game “Moonzy. Developmental Tasks for Kids” and in the audio version of the ‘How to Become a Friend’ series.
• Ellie got her name only in the series “Bandage”. Before that she was called just “butterfly”.
• In the episodes “How to Be a Friend” and “Beauty”, Ellie hums a melody that is played in the credits of the animated series.
• In the new 3D series, Ellie almost always appears with the pink and yellow butterflies, essentially replacing the blue butterfly and becoming one of the three traditional butterflies.
